Image of a map of the contiguous 48 states, showing the top 5 hydropower producing states in 2007. number 1 was Washington, number 2 - Oregon, number 3 - California, number 4 - New York, number 5- Montana

WHERE HYDROPOWER IS GENERATED???

Over one-half of the total U.S. Hydroelectric capacity for electricity generation is concentrated in three States (Washington, California and Oregon) with approximately 27 percent in Washington, the location of the Nation’s largest hydroelectric facility – the Grand Coulee Dam.
It is important to note that only a small percentage of all dams in the United States produce electricity. Most dams were constructed solely to provide irrigation and flood control.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Wind Energy!!!

One of the greatest advantages of Wind Energy is that it is ample. Secondly, wind energy is renewable. Some other advantages of Wind Energy are that it is widely distributed and also reducing toxic gas emissions. Wind Energy is getting cheaper and cheaper to produce. The cost of producing wind energy has come down by at least eighty percent since the eighties.
The disadvantages of wind energy are the machinery is known to be noisy, birds have been killed by running into the turbines. Wind can never be predicted and might not be present at certain times throughout the year. Though wind power is non-polluting, the turbines may create a lot of noise, which indirectly contributes to noise pollution.

Check for Leaks

Air leaks around doors and windows are huge sources of energy waste. According to the US Department of Energy, almost half of your family's power bill goes toward heating and cooling the home. A leak causes the power bill to go up while the Power Bandit sucks up all that wasted energy! A leak can make your heater and air conditioner work harder, which can shorten their lives.
